Historically, the peak of Hurricane season is Sept. 10, with heightened activity between mid-August and October. Atmospheric and oceanic conditions continue to support an above-normal 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.

At the time of this article, Tropical Storm Gordon is spinning in the Atlantic and a disturbance northeast of Florida could bring coastal flooding and flooding rains to parts of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic coast, according to the National Hurricane Center’s latest advisory Sunday.
Tropical Storm Gordon is over the open waters off the Atlantic. Gordon is expected to weaken to a tropical depression later today and could degenerate into a remnant low at any time during the next few days.
